Absolutely not. Anyone – Mentors and Mentees alike – from around the globe can join the Real Mentors Network. Entrepreneurship, vision & change have no bounds. We believe access to such shouldn’t have any either. 

Yes, all members – Mentee and Mentor – are allowed to cancel their memberships. Members can freeze their membership for up to 6 months.

The personal information that you share in your mentor and mentee application is used exclusively for our matching algorithm. The only information that is visible to other users is what you share on your Real Mentors Network Dashboard. We don't share with any third parties, and we will never sell it. All mentors are expected to be role models to mentors – that doesn’t mean losing sight of what makes you so special in your field, your energy and your ability to empathize with others who have walked a similar path. However, it does mean that you should possess the following qualities:

  • An individual looking to volunteer your guidance
  • Are an experienced, trusted advisor
  • Are dedicated to working with others and providing a path to success
  • Are interested in developing your mentorship skills
  • Are looking to connect with others – mentors and mentees alike

All Mentors provide guidance on a volunteer-basis. Their availability and dedication is imperative to our Mentees’ success and for that – we thank you. While Mentors are not paid, they do not have to pay for a membership and have access to additional promotional opportunities like blog and social takeovers as well as email newsletter features. Our organizational mentorship programs offer a group of individual mentors and mentees within one company and/or organization looking to connect with other mentors and mentees within their organization. 

Typically, these organizations are seeking to build mentoring into their talent development plans for increasing employee engagement and retention with our programs.

Mentoring is a powerful resource for organizations, research has confirmed that mentoring increases talent retention, especially for your talent from less represented communities. It also provides organizations with a powerful tool for intergenerational collaboration, succession planning, and strengthens organizational intelligence. Combined, these all give organizations a competitive edge in both talent recruitment and retention, as well as innovation and growth.

Mentoring increases employee engagement by providing them not only the opportunity to learn and develop professional skills, but mentors can also help mentees navigate the internal politics within an organization.

The Real Mentors Network is a subscription-based program, allowing mentees to join our network and find a mentor based upon the type of mentoring experience you are seeking, and your budget.

The data is clear, most employees are seeking mentorship, and mentoring is a great opportunity for them to grow professionally and advance in their careers. Employees should be invited to participate in this program, and have the time to commit. Most mandatory efforts don’t work so a best practice is to give employees the opportunity to volunteer or opt-in to a mentoring relationship.
