Are All Gen-Y Cut from the Same Cloth?

Guest Blog Post by Oana Amaria As an intercultural learning and development consultant at Language & Culture Worldwide (LCW), I work with global leaders to offer cross-cultural training solutions that help organizations develop global acumen and engage team members all over the world. I recently found myself routinely spending a significant amount of time debunking stereotypes about Gen-Y that would arise during my training sessions. To help my clients better understand our misunderstood generation, I set out to learn more about Millennials across the globe. The similarities and differences among our global counterparts are amazing! Read all about them in my recently published article in HR Digest on page 4!  Here is more about me: Oana is an innovative and experienced intercultural trainer and organizational consultant with a specialization in workforce development and over 7 years of international development experience in countries such as Ghana, India, Mexico, Romania, and China. At LCW, Oana works with global leaders to offer cross-cultural training solution to help organization develop global acumen and remain competitive in a multicultural world. She helps Fortune 500 companies embed cultural competence into their organization in order to understand and leverage their diverse talent pool and customer base—in all their location around the world. Her research on global millennials, “Are All Gen-Y Cut From the Same Cloth: Understanding and Engaging Millennials, Globally” was recently featured by Diversity Best Practices, MRA, and MultiLingual Magazine. Having spent her early years growing up in Romania, Oana’s own experience on the difficulty of emigrating to the United States in the late 1980’s fueled her desire to create a strong community that enables individuals to succeed across cultures. Oana is also a millennial. Be sure to share your own personal insights by connecting with her on twitter @oanaamaria
